Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently predicted that there will be a billion robotic vehicles on the road in the future. This bold claim was made during a conference call with analysts where Huang discussed the company’s financial results for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ended June 26. January 2025.

In an interview, CFO Colette Kress said the data center division posted 93% year-over-year growth and 16% sequential growth thanks to the advent of the Blackwell chip and rising sales of the Hopper chip. Blackwell sales exceeded the company’s expectations, leading to the fastest product launch in Nvidia’s history.

Huang also pointed out that with the advent of Blackwell, it is common for cluster systems to start with more than 100,000 graphics processing units (GPUs). This infrastructure is essential for training the next generation of advanced AI models and allowing customers to scale their systems to unlock new levels of AI capabilities.

Kress also noted that demand for inferencing solutions is growing thanks to new models such as OpenAI o3 and DeepSeek. Nvidia has achieved a 200-fold reduction in inference costs over the past two years, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and efficiency.
