[trend] 40 000 executed orders with DB Schenker robots

Autonomous warehouse vehicles and robotization are entering our business, as well as the area of logistics, more and more. In fact, it’s nothing new as a topic. However, there is an interesting case of the warehousing giant DB Schenker who is providing logistic services for a Scandinavian eshop with toys.
There are no people working in their warehouses, orders are prepared only by robots that, completely autonomously, ship them to customers immediately. An order you make today will arrive to you until the next day, and you can be sure you got it from one of the robotic workers.
On a daily basis, the robots can execute up to 40 000 consignments. Compared to humans, they are 60% more efficient and save 20 % of space. These 65 robots move around warehousing premises of 6000 m2 and the whole system is based on laser beams that navigate the robots and instruct them in what to do and how to do it.
Using the revolutionary system CarryPick that is developed specially for DB Schenger and this eshop, they can be sure that the ordered goods can often make children happy on the same day as they were ordered.
